Last week I discovered the website of a person who makes curtains to your own measurements. I like this because our windows are not standard sizes and I have trouble finding curtains to fit. I paid £35 for just one pair of ready made for our bathroom last year and then had to cut them to size myself. She made me 3 pairs for the living room for just £72 in less than a week! If anyone in the UK is interested let me know and I'll post her website.
That is a novel idea, just like having a seamstress down the street. How do you choose the materials for the curtains? How are the made curtains delivered to you?
She has photographs of all her fabrics on her website and she sends out samples. We had her send us two different colour samples of the same pattern before we chose. She sent the parcel by courier for which she charged £10 but it did arrive the next day.
I am not the best seamstress but I can get by most times. For us its not window issues but its wall space. We have some attic like rooms that were somewhat converted into real bedrooms so finding furniture that fits up against the wall proper, well its a pain.
