Default Picture Wall Paper

Does anyone have wall paper in their house that is actually an image? I have seen this on one of those home decorating shows where the picture of a husband and his newborn baby were used as the wall paper on one wall in the baby room. Any tips on how I can find out how to do this?

There are available wallpapers with pictures, including ones with sceneries. But the problem with this kind of wall paper, is when a spot peels off, you have to replace the whole picture.

Thanks for the reply. I was kind of hoping to use one of my own images to create a wall paper. Also, isn't there some sort of sealer I can use to prevent the peeling?

You're probably better off printing large poster/collages and then covering them with a clear lacquer. Those wallpaper prints are very expensive but if thats what you're looking for I suggest a sign-writing or shop-fitting company.

I've seen the same look done in a pool/bar room. Big Mohammad Ali print on one wall and a Boulevard of Broken Dreams style pic on the other. Looked awesome!

That is such a cool idea. My son wants to have an underwater theme in his room and I have a picture that I took at our zoo of an aquarium that would be perfect for this.

An underwater theme sounds cool!

Have you guys ever heard of anyone doing the printing for a project like this themselves with a high quality home printer?

But if you do the printing on a home based printer it would be in a lot of seperate pieces right? I would find the seams unattractive and distracting. I would rather take it to a printing shop and have it printed as big as I wanted it (or could afford to have it printed).
