I have a really hard time staying with a scheme when I start to decorate. I have a lot of older stuff that I cannot get rid of because it's sentimental to me. I have a neighbor who went with a primative scheme for her whole house and it's perfect! I'd have to get rid of most of the stuff in my house if I did that though.

I am the same way, I refuse to get rid of some of the things that I really like and they don't go with the theme at all. I pretty much pick a theme for each room and try to stick with that. I do love the primitive theme though.
