I know tons of people do this but we never really have. How often should you paint your home (inside portion) anyways? We are thinking about trying something new but it also requires repainting the entire house. How much does it cost just to get everything back to white so we can hand paint for a themed room?

I'm not sure what you mean by a themed room? Do you mean like with murals painted on the walls or something? I try to keep my house very neutral inside so that I have a blank canvas for anything I want to do when the mood strikes me.

Once I painted my bedroom a pale buttery yellow color. It was blue prior, not too dark and not too light. I bought some paint that has the primer already in it. I thought it would be easy, and it would only take 1-2 gallons of paint. Wrong! I had to buy 4 gallons of paint to cover that awful blue.

It is hard to say how much it will cost. Are your walls a dark color now? The darker they are, the more paint probably. I will buy a separate primer paint next time, if I have to paint darker walls.
