Default Themes

I have always decorated my rooms by "themes" but I'm starting to rethink that decision. I have my kitchen in an apple theme and have border as well as everything else I could find, in apple motif. My son's bedroom is in a blue jeans theme, with a picture of a small boy who is taking a bath in a wash tub with his blue jeans by his tub. I have a border in his room which has all types of denim garments hung on a wash line. However, he is now at the age where he wants something more teen oriented. I spent a lot of money and a lot of time on his bedroom and have added to the things I've collected to decorate his room. He's going to be a teen soon, should I give in and let him do what he wants?

Is there another bedroom in the house you could move him to that doesn't have so much work put in to it? It seems like a shame to lose such a well decorated room.

We are planning on moving our son to the basement when he is old enough to be a teen. You don't have a basement you could build a bedroom in do you?

I think you should let him grow up. I can see why he wouldn't want to be in a room like that. Still, could you just modify the theme to make it more appealing to him?

It's his room and we know teenagers could a be bit more sensitive when it comes to expressing their own identify and individuality, so I understand why he wants to do some sort of a room makeover. I just wish though that nothing major needs to be done in order to create the look that he wants. I mean, as jump said, some modifications here and there would be enough to have the new look.
