Default Venetian Plaster
I want to augment the wall above my fireplace with Venetian plaster.

I've been looking around and buying a can of it seems pretty pricey.

Is there an easy way to make my own? I thought some joint compound and sand mixed into a regular paint, that has the color I want, would do the job.

Has anyone tried this?
