Default What's Your Decorating Style?

Do you have a particular style in which you decorate? I enjoy interior decorating and I like to call my style "International Eclectic".

Yes, I made that up for a style name, but I enjoy decorating with pieces and styles that have world influence. It's very rewarding and there's always some new trend to get excited about!

I like painted walls not wallpaper and I go for simple colours, then my family fill the room with clutter and spoil it!

I tend to go with more of a country or craftsman style. However, my g/f has recently moved in and she is adding her own style now.

Ah, your own kind of eclectic then... those styles are always the best. I never wanted to live somewhere where I had to be afraid to touch or move anything... I don't want to live in a museum.

Country's always nice... what's your g/f's style?

"International Eclectic". I love the name, Katharina; mind if I borrow it sometimes?
I've always called my look "Bohemian/Hippie", but there are definitely elements of the style I could call "I.E.". I love tapestries, Turkish carpets, art grade posters, Indian prints, masses of different but complementary pillows, and, yes, incense in my brass dragon incense holder. All my husband's guitars (which never seem to get put back in their cases, but that's OK) lend a bit of class to the joint.

You can definitely borrow it, sure! Your style sounds very comfortable and I like the name of it. I'm in the music business so I'd be right at home with guitars scattered about.

My hubby just bought the best guitar stand; it will accommodate three guitars on it. I really saves on the space, plus I think it looks quite cool.

Well now doesn't that sound great?! You get the guitars picked up and organized and get to decorate with a new piece of furniture all at the same time.

Well I'd say my taste is my own. I like to fill it with lots of trinkets and nice things. We have a new house with white tiles and walls so I've jazzed it up with our favourite color blue. I've got a navy blue modular, light blue curtains, retro blue bar stools and the list goes on. Try to simplify, don't clutter and keep in crisp and clean!

I think my decorating style would be called hmm...cheap? I don't have much of a decorating budget so I get stuff that strikes me at yard sales, thrift stores, and dollar stores. The rooms usually get all pulled together eventually but sometimes it takes a while.
