Default $5 a gallon this summer??

I heard on the news that some economists are predicting gas prices to rise to $5 a gallon by the summer. Normally, I would say they are being alarmists, but with the crazy things I have seen in the economy over the past few years, I'm afraid they might be right.

I would not brush the idea under the rug just yet either. Right now our local prices have been very weird lately. I caught something that said about 3.80 today but in the papers this week they had advertised that it was lower. Maybe someone made a typo in the paper, not sure.

Our gas is $3.19. The last time I filled my tank it was $2.99. It's gone up 20 cents in about a week and a half. I'm hoping it will be like last year. They said the same thing about $5 a gallon and we never got that high.

Well I have come to the conclusion that they raise and lower the prices when ever they want to. Our prices had been going down but are now but up some. They have been doing this for a while so we never know what it's going to be.

Right now our gas is up to $3.55 a gallon. Last week it was $3.23 a gallon. It's a crazy spike in price! I can see it hitting $5 a gallon - it was over $4 here last summer.

Our prices got down to $3.19 the other day and are now back up to $3.39 this week. You just never know what they are going to be. But then it doesn't really matter, does it? If you want gas in your car to go somewhere, then you have to pay whatever it is.

I have definitely changed my driving habits since gas has gotten expensive. I don't do any unnecessary driving. If gas does go over $5 a gallon, it will have serious consequences on our summer plans. I don't like to waste money.

I heard this same thing yesterday by an economist. Though, I think he said $4.00. I may have gotten it wrong. He said by July 4th. I hope it is $4 and not $5, but either prices are outrageous! A bicycle is more attractive to me these days than a car.

I might start walking if those prices end up being true, right now even 3 or 4 is bad enough. I am sure 5 a gallon would break many hearts, including my husbands who travels almost 3 hours a day for his daily commute!

With the trouble brewing in Iran you can take it to the bank that gas will be $4 or $5 a gallon...or worse. My husband and I figured it up the other day, and if it was $5 a gallon it would cost him one whole day of pay to get back and forth to work for the week.
