Default Amish Goods

If anyone lives near an Amish community, here's a tip. I have found them to be very reasonable in what they charge for doing work and for goods in their store. They do not inflate prices artificially and believe in doing a good days work for their wages. I'm not saying all of them are perfect but I have found that generally they are as honest as you could wish for. If you want grocery items (basics) at a good price, shop in their stores. They generally buy in bulk and sell at a reasonable price even though their prices have gone up as well, they don't gouge.

I've had wonderful experiences dealing with them too. There is an Amish greenhouse near me where they have the healthiest plants and they are cheaper than anyone else around. Even their produce is cheaper and it's wonderful!

Mmm the Amish, heard of them but never shopped anywhere near there communities. They live simply don't they? They're supposed to be 'good Christians' so I guess they want to please the Lord be being honest and selling at a reasonable price! Anyway what do they need the huge profits for, certainly not for buying IPods and LCD t.v's!

We have a group by where we live. And yes Mel, they live without phone, without electric and all that entails. They have no cars, just horses and buggies and till their lands with horse drawn tools. They don't have health insurance either. If one of them gets sick, they all pitch in to help each other. It almost seems like a very stress free life but I'm sure it's not!

We went to Lancaster, PA last year for a long weekend. It's Amish country. It was so much fun and the stores were amazing. I love their work. Baked goods, pickled vegetables, and wood work. They were so nice too.
I would also advise going shopping in Amish shops if they are near you.

That's great! I know there is a community near me but I don't know if there is a store. I'll have to go exploring and see if I can find one. I would like to have some raw milk anyway so I can make some cheese.
