Default Asking family?

My daughter is going on a school trip that costs $2,500 (not including pocket money or her passport). She wants to send out an e-mail to all of our family (Aunts, cousins, etc.) asking for sponsors and/or jobs to do to make some money.

Do you think this is a bad idea? I don't want to offend anyone.

Well she is offering to work for it too so that isn't so bad. If she gets gifts from any of these relatives, you might suggest that they just give money instead since she is needing it. Sounds kind of costly so hope it is a fun trip.

I don't think it would offend anyone, especially since she is willing to work for it. Maybe she could also find some kids to babysit a couple nights a week.

I like the babysitting idea too. I also think it's fine since she said she will work for the money. Good luck with the whole thing and I hope she is able to go!

Did you send out the e-mail? Did anyone respond? I think it's a wonderful idea. Your aunt's can get some extra work done around their house and she can make some money for a cool trip!

I think it's a great idea. Are they going to fundraise for any of this trip? Man it seems quite expensive without any fundraising. Perhaps you can buy candy bars and try to sell them.

If she is willing to work for the donation and its not just a "donate because you know me" then I see no issues with it. We had a similar issue but the trip was a little less and it was for boy scouts for our nephew.
