Default Cash or Credit Card?

So which do you usually find yourself using more of, cash or credit card?

Both have their obvious advantages, but it is usually a lot easier to manage a budget, if you were to use cash near exclusively. What are your thoughts?

When shopping, I mostly pay cash or using my debit card. I don't like the idea that you can purchase what you cannot afford at the moment. I use my credit card only to make online transactions.

I have learned my lesson the hard way because I have used the credit card on any transactions I do before the economy went down. When the economy fell, I had a hard time paying all the due payments that incurred on my credit card bill.

So now, I only use the credit card for emergency purposes. I pay cash on almost everything because this is the best way to get out of debt.

Debit card almost always, credit card only for ER, and cash almost never unless its a tip. I still carry a little cash on me, but nothing like I used to years ago.

That's what we have found as well but my husband's check has to be direct deposited. So we go to the bank and get out cash just leaving enough in to pay the bills we pay online.

Usually I normally carry both cards with me. I always pay with my debit card since I really do not like the idea of borrowing money to buy for my purchases. I will only use the credit card in case of emergencies but then also I will pay back any outstanding debts as soon as possible. I don't like the idea of the bank people hovering around me.
