I just spent all morning dealing with a thousand dollar bill that we received for our youngest all because the doctors office chosen submits their claims as "out patient" since they are affiliated with a hospital. That means its not a normal doctor bill but a hospital one.

Wow, never heard of that, sounds like a way for them to make more money? Did he go to an ER or something? I would think if the doctor had an office it would be different.

Oh my, I am so sorry to hear that happened to you. Thanks for letting the rest of us know. I could not handle a bill like that so when I take the kids to the Dr. I will ask how they bill it for sure.

I was fighting a claim for about 4 months myself. Its crazy the way these doctor offices bill out for services. You have to check everything.
