Default Cutting back on cable

In order to save money I had to cut back on cable. I have basic cable now. I used to have so many cable channels I hardly watched any of them. Still, I somehow miss them. Has anybody else had to scale back on cable?

I only have basic cable, but I have digital cable and the DVR too. That is what costs me so much each month. I don't think I could do without the DVR - it's amazing.

I used to have a DVR too and I loved it. I'm really sad I had to get rid of it. I never thought I would have to but with the money I'm saving I guess it's worth it. I am going to get it back as soon as I can afford to. I miss it so much!

I've thought about doing the same thing. However, I watch very little network television. Most of what I do watch is cable, although I don't watch much of that these days except for news.

What do you get with basic cable aside from PBS and network channels?

We have a basic cable for 9.99 a month. We get all the local channels and a few lifestyle channels. Many of the shows that I miss are available to watch for free online anyway so it I'm not really missing much.

Most people that I know are watching more of their shows online and I guess it works, if you are connected it does not matter where you are, right? I still prefer watching my TV, I did not invest in a large flat screen just to watch it collect dust.

I had no idea that basic cable was so cheap. It seems like no matter how many channels you have, there's either nothing good to watch or everything you want to watch is on at the same time. Maybe I'll downsize my cable and see what I can find on the internet.

I got rid of my cable and movie channels for the first time ever. I don't watch tv much so I was wasting money. Instead, I signed up with Netflix and I watch it through my Xbox. I've watched so many movies and shows on there now. Well worth it if you ask me.
