Default Early Retirement?

Is anyone here close to retirement and thinking about taking it early? Say around 62 or so instead of waiting till time to do so. We are figuring it up and won't loose much and since my husband is self employed and never knows when money may be coming in, we figure this way he will have a certain amount every month and can get our bills paid with it. Any thoughts?

Not us. We are, at the moment, thinking of getting a part time job each to help out with bills. It's amazing the prices of things now. Groceries have increased by at least 1/3 right now and I hear it's going to go higher during the winter months.

I doubt with the way things are going that we will ever retire. If anything the day we drop dead we will be retired. Besides I would hate to be bored.

Part of me says I'll retire when I die. The other wants to retire so I can enjoy time with family more. Even if I do "retire" I will have to do something. I have this problem where I cannot sit around doing nothing. Not to say all retires do that.

It would leave me more time to homebrew, garden, and do other hobbies. Who knows, maybe I could pick up black smithing. That is something I always wanted to learn.
