Default Even when you only get what you need...

Have you ever noticed that sometimes even when you get only what you need it ends up costing a small fortune? We went shopping yesterday and managed to spend $500 in less than three hours. Ugh. We needed a new weed eater (the old one was broken beyond repair), a new safety gate for the baby, groceries, furnace filters, blah, blah, blah. We're not frivolous people and I try to tell myself that we needed everything, but it still stings the bank account.

Yes! Everything is expensive these days. Groceries are outrageous! We went school shopping and dropped about that much on clothing. It's crazy! We didn't even shop at the top end stores.

I have noticed too how everything is so much more expensive now. Thank goodness for the cut price stores that are selling children's basic school clothes for just a few pounds and the supermarket "value" items which I buy a lot more of now.

I agree that everything is way more expensive now, but the most important thing is that shopping and spending money are very very easy tasks. No matter how expensive or how cheap the products on the market are, we will usually tend to spend more than what we plan before.

Did you buy everything new? Some of those items on the list I would've held out on until I could find a good used version for 50% or more less.
