If you thought that the potential income generated from your online work would be bigger than it is from your offline job, would you quit the current job and focus on generating income online?
It's a tough question. You may make big money on the net now, but there is no guarantee that next month you will make as much as you do now. Still, even an offline job wouldn't guarantee you permanent income, considering the fact that many people have lost their jobs in this tough situation.
In a heartbeat. Online or offline, there are no employment guarantees. At least if you make money online, you're not using your car everyday to get to work, so you're doing your part to help save the environment.
I'd quit my offline job as soon as I started making enough regular income online to make that possible. When you think of the savings on gas, wear and tear on your vehicle, the time you save driving to and from the job, etc., it's a sound decision.
Of course! Actually, I've already done that. I found exactly what I wanted to do and went with it. I am an online writer and have been for over a year now. It's nice knowing I can support myself without having to go to "work". I love what I do! I write on blogs and write articles. It's a lot of fun!
Thanks for the great input guys. I agree with Manning about how much we can save on gas, car repair and time and how we could help the environment a bit when we work at home.
I do not think I would work from home. It seems like it would be hit or miss. I think it would be a lot like being an artist and you would be in feast or famine. I am not great at managing money so I would not quit my day job.
I think I would try to do both first to see how I could do before I committed. It could turn out that you would lose your real world job and you would have to rely on the online until you could find another job offline. But it doesn't hurt to have both options available.
