Default Garage Sale Bartering

One of the best ways to save money is by bargain hunting. I mainly do that by going to garage sales most every weekend. I find great deals at most and I barter at all of them. I rarely pay what the marked price is because most are willing to cut a deal to get rid of their clutter. I always tell people to barter. It can't hurt and might even save some dollars.

We live on a retirement Park not far from a small village in the country. Every year the whole village and our Park participate in a mass garage sale. It's great wandering around all the garages and, yes, I always barter as that is part of the fun and expected.

Some people are offended but for gosh sakes, it's a garage sale. I expect people to counter offer me less than what I have posted on an item. It's part of the fun.

Bartering is the fun in garage sales. Without the barter then it is just a normal shop that is setup at the yard or garage. I get good items for just a few dollars because of bartering.
