Default Getting ahead

Through frugal living and great budgeting I have finally managed to dig myself out of a rather large hole. I am still paying off a few small things but I am basically down to just my living bills (i.e. utilities, cell phone, rent). How are things going for you?

That's great that you have done that, doesn't it feel good? We are not completely debt free but have managed to cut some things here and there to make things a little easier. We're sticking with it so it's getter a little better over time.

We are doing the same except for one credit card that we are working to pay off. After years of being married its the only card we have ever maxed and we want that debt gone ASAP!

Pay off what you can, as quickly as you can. There is no point in having a ton of people in debt that could easily be paying it down. I think people assume its okay to have a little debt then they forget about it until the interest grows to the point of being overwhelming.

Some of the trickiest things ends up being the budget, if you can snag that and stick with it, the debt will go away. I am always surprised by people who want to budget better but end up quitting before they see any results.

That is great! Right now I have a few credit card bills and I need to beef up my savings again. I'm hoping by June 2012 I will be sitting pretty again. I tend to get credit card bills around school clothing time and Christmas time.
