Default Holiday bonus

I'm curious to know if your workplace gave out bonuses this year? At the company I used to work for, we always got a bonus. It was up to $500 (depending on how long you worked there). Here, we got a $20 gift certificate for a local grocery store. I know it's better than nothing. Did you get one?

I think Holiday bonuses are a thing of the past in this poor economy. I would be thankful for whatever you get. I thin our employers think we should be thankful for working!

When I worked I always received pretty decent Christmas bonuses. I don't know what companies are doing these days with the economy. Yeah, I guess one is lucky to have a job.

UPS used to give out Turkeys. Both for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Then it was just Thanksgiving, and then it was nothing.

You also do not get a bonus when self employed other then extra paperwork to do.

Sorry Jason! I think working for yourself outweighs the paperwork though. No one to answer to! It has to be worth it.

I did not get a bonus this year. I did get a turkey though for Thanksgiving.

Yeah, there are benefits, and drawbacks. My "bonus" comes at tax time. With how stiff penalties are from Uncle Sam are if you do not pay enough estimated taxes, I tend to over pay. Something I know you are not supposed to do.

But since I work for myself, I was able to do stuff like go to my daughters school yesterday dressed as Santa and let the pre-school, kindergarten, tolders, and a few other classes sit on my lap, tell me what they want, and give them little candy canes and chocolate. That was worth more then any bonus I ever gotten.

I do not get a holiday bonus as I am a public servant. I worked for a company many years ago that gave out gifts like coffee mugs with the company name and things like that. I used to say that I would have appreciated the extra $5 instead of the mug, but it was always nice knowing our CEO and senior management walked away with the nice checks.

I know someone who got a cheap bonus compared to what their salary is, some places are still getting hit hard when it comes to being able to keep their employees happy. I wonder what the lowest bonus that went out this year was?
