| Inexpensive groceries. I have started shopping at a place called Save-a-Lot. I can`t believe how much cheaper the food is there. It`s going to come in handy now with both my boys moving back home. |

| Is that the place where you bring your own bags and stuff? I went to one at one point and it was so dirty I didn't want to shop there even though I was saving money. |

| We have a Save-Alot here too. I shop there from time to time. I usually get the name brand items there. I'm not crazy over their meats (they seem to be fatty). Produce is ok, but it tends to go bad quicker than the other grocery stores in town. |

| I shop at Save-a-Lot, but if you have an Aldi's nearby, I think they're even better. They're the ones where you bring your own bags or buy them there and bag your own.
I especially like their bread. It's cheap, but fresh. They also have one-pound packages of ground turkey that make great burgers and costs around $1.20 in Kentucky. |

| We tried the Aldi's in town when it first opened and there was nothing in there and most of the brand names we had never heard of. A friend later told me that most of the brands were a norther thing (we are in Georgia). I may give them one more chance though. |

| Most of the brands in Aldi's are off-brands, but I don't see much difference in them and the brand names, except for the canned tomatoes. I usually buy Red Gold or Hunt's tomatoes because the quality difference justifies the price difference.
I don't go out of my way, but if I happen to see a Big Lots, I usually stop in and check out what groceries they have, too. |

| I love shopping at Big Lots! Unfortunately we don't have an Aldi's or a Save a Lot near here because I would definitely give them a try. |

| I usually shop at all three plus two large grocery stores and Wal-Mart. I make a list of what I want from each store and then go. I have coupons ready. This wouldn't work for me if they weren't all within 10 miles of my home. I even go to Rite Aid grocery sometimes to get food items. They once had Post cereals for $1.88 a box with no limit. We love the Great Grains cereal that has dates, raisins, nuts and flakes in it. We use it for trail mix and add just a few other things we like. |

| I am fortunate in that I have many grocery stores to choose from which keeps the pricing competitive. I go to Giant for the loss leader sales with coupons, Wal-Mart, Mars and Food Lion. I find overall, Food Lion has the cheapest deals even without coupons. |

| I stick with my regular grocery store which has pretty good prices. You have to be careful with foods, especially meats and produce. There are so many recalls these days. |
