Default Investing in your home

We have decided to take some of the money we have saved from not eating out on our home. Even though the market is down now we didn't plan to sell for another 10 years anyway. Is there anyone else trying to liquidate other investments and put the money in your home?

It's funny you should say that. My husband and I were just talking about what we wanted to do with our extra money. We were going to make college funds, but if things don't go well our cash might not be worth much. A house on the other hand is a real physical thing. We are thinking about turning our cash, those pieced of paper, into physical things, like improvements to our home.
