I have a budget that I stick to. When going grocery shopping I make a list and stick to that list. I try not to carry too much cash as it is tempting to spend. I only carry around 10 or 20 dollars in case of emergency.
I make a list and stick to it as much as possible. If I buy anything extra, it has to be something that is really needed that I forgot to add to the list.
It's not always easy to limit spending. What I try to do normally is to make a list of the things I need, plan a budget and once I have bought the items from the store, I will be checking how much I have spent in all. The best way I believe is to make a list of all your income and outgoing expenses. That way you'll know how much you are spending
I have the same problem. It seems there is always something that I need or see on deep discount that I can't pass up. I'm going to have to start limiting though because my job is ending and my husband is going to be the only one working for a while. Thanks for the tips all!
I use coupons and yes taking cash works well too. If I'm in a hurry I am going to use my debit card. I don't have the time to keep track of what I am spending to be sure I have enough cash on hand.
I make a list and allow a small area for extras, it seems to work out pretty well. Plus I tend to stock up once a month on things from places that allow bulk orders (like cost-co and sams club type places).
I make a list of what I need and that is what I go by when I go to the store for any purchase. That helps me to alleviate impulse buying which used to be a serious problem for me.
