Does anyone here have a problem in their area with people stealing checks out of your mailbox? It came across the news this morning that tons of people are doing this in our town. How could they even cash it if its stolen without your ID?
We haven't had.....yet. I know some of the adjoining towns have trouble with this. We have just rented a post office box that opens with a key. That's about the only thing we could think of that would help.
I have heard about it but it has not happened to anyone I know. I'm not sure how they cash them. I know that they say postal workers steal money and gift cards too around the holidays.
I have heard of postal theft but as far as I know, I've never been a victim. I have seen stories on the news where post office workers felt envelopes for cash and would steal the money out.
