Default Propane company

We use propane for our hot water heater and a few other things in the house. Everything else is electric. We have a 500 gallon propane tank and the provider of the Propane wants to come and switch it out for a 250 gallon. It seems they need to have more of the bigger ones for other customers. They told me that they would not charge us more per gallon if we switched but I want it in writing. I swear the price is always changing and I don’t want to be stuck in the end because they say we owe more per gallon (lower usage). Right now they are quoting us a lower price than what we paid last year per gallon – if we let them switch. Thoughts? Should I get it in writing or what?

Propane is like gasoline for your car, it will go up and down in value.

I wanted propane. Both my parents and one of my brothers have it. My other brother has natural gas.

Those who have propane said they will not use it again. We grew up on my parents having propane and enjoy the cooking on it. But the price here, electric is cheaper. Natural gas however, is cheaper then the other two. Sadly, getting natural gas your development here has to be setup for it. No gas trucks. Not sure if that is anywhere, but here it is true. I would love natural gas for things.

That all being said. I doubt they could promise you a certain price. You could try saying you want an X amount of discount for x amount of months/years. But not sure how they would take it. Having a larger tank would allow you to refill when gas is cheap before your tank gets empty, if they allow that.

I was thinking the same Jason "Having a larger tank would allow you to refill when gas is cheap before your tank gets empty, if they allow that. " That is the one reason I would keep the larger tank.

I know here they allow you to fill up whenever you request it. Sure they do have some plans where they come ever so many weeks (I believe this is the cheapest plan too). We are customers and we call when we want the truck to come and fill our tank. I do check the prices every now and then and when it's a low price I order it.
