Default Refinancing For Home Remodeling

We want to do some remodeling to our home, but we'd have to refinance it to get them done. I've heard people say to get out of debt because the economy could get worse. Because of that, I just don't know if we should refinance. Does anyone have any thoughts about it?

I've heard that we should get out of debt, too. I'm not sure I'd refinance unless I absolutely had to. If I did, I would get it paid off as soon as I could.

I would remodel the home step by step if I were you. You never know what will happen to the economy and you may not be able to re-pay your loan.

I agree with the others. It's just not a good time to refinance for any reason. I think step by step is the best way to go, and I might even consider paying my home off first if that is possible.
