Default Sale items not in store!

We got an ad to Victoria's Secrets that showed a ton of clearance items and on sale items. My daughter is in love with their "pink" link and her birthday is soon. I went into the mall today to get some of the items and they had None. The cashier told me they had about 3 "sale" items left and the sale just started.

That burns me - you try to save money and the stores mess with you. I will have to look online.

I don't think it's necessarily the store messing with you. The ads for a store like Victoria Secret aren't specialized for your local store and probably say something like 'while supplies last.' The stores are trying to get rid of their stock of that particular item, which is probably the purpose of that sale. Plus it's the end of a weekend, I'm sure weekend shoppers got a fair share of what was left.

I would still blame the store. I don't mind if they are clearance items but not sale items. When a store advertises a sale they should have product there the whole length of the sale.

The store can only get what is shipped to them and if a sale lasts 2 days and everything is gone the first day, how are they going to get items? The store is missing out just as much as the customer is so I don't know why they would do it on purpose. When you look at an ad it is not a guarantee and they really do tell you that it's only as good as long as "supplies last."

I wouldn't blame the store. Instead, I would blame the other people who got the items before I did, they are guilty for that. At least, I would blame the situation. 8-)

See I don't agree with the ones that would not blame the store. It is Corporates fault for not supplying the stores with enough of the sale items. Now if the sale said limited supplies, I would agree but not when it's a normal sale.

I don't know, I would assume that all sales have limited supplies since there is a limited number of tangible items they could possibly sell. There's never going to be a never-ending supply of awesome panties, as much as I wish there was.

I would not blame the store, but I would be cranky. It is really the other shoppers, especially the greedy ones, who deplete the stock of sale items.

I went to Victoria's Secret with my sister-in-law, a while back. She bought tons of panties, and anything else she could get her hands on. She was getting so much, there was no way she could wear/use it all. A few months later, we were clearing stuff in her house for a yard sale. She asked me to bring her this plastic drawer cart from her room. While pushing it through the house, I dumped one of the drawers out, and it was full of Victoria's Secret underwear, with tags still attached!

Long story short: I am betting she is not the only compulsive shopper out there! Compulsive shoppers mean no sales items for the rest of us.

I don't know what it is about panties that gets to compulsive shoppers. I am willing to bet that panties are the number 1 item bought by compulsive shoppers. I had a very similar situation with my sister!

I really see no blame here all around. Supply and demand, their demand was higher than their supply but if its end of season stuff I doubt they are making more of it.
