Default saving change

What does everyone do with their change in the house? We find it all over the place and lately its been creeping up in the laundry room. I set out a jar on the shelf and it has not even been 3 months, its now half full.

We always toss it into a jar too (big jar). We take it back when it's full and that is what we use as extra spending money on vacations.

We have a very large pickle jar that all change gets dumped into. The original idea was to use it for Christmas, but it has actually become our emergency fund. The change jar has saved us more than once!

I actually have a pink piggy bank that's ceramic that I had when I was a child. I still put my pocket change in it and it does help when we are in a pinch. I've raided the piggy bank more than once when a sudden situation demands it.

We had a counter for the longest time but we got tired of hauling it all off to the bank and having to roll everything too. Now we just use a large bowl that if someone needs some change, we can grab and go.

I take my change in once a month, probably. We take it to the grocery store Coinstar machine and get some cash. It's not much but it helps pay for some groceries when we need them.

We leave ours in the jar until we need it for something or it gets full. I remember several times when we were first married that the change jar is how we bought groceries until payday.

I have some old 10 gallon jugs that I had honey come in. Each coin amount gets its own jug. Not sure what I will do with them if I ever fill them up.

I love saving change! It is like a hobby with me. Right now I have a large tin can with change filled to the brim. About 2.5 years ago, I counted and cashed in one my tins, and I had over $350! I'm a pretty serious change saver!
