Default Selling on e-bay

My goal for the weekend is to clean today and organize the house and then get my big pile of stuff ready and on e-bay! I'm tired of looking at the pile of junk in the corner. It's really not junk! Most of it is brand new! Just haven't found the time.

Well it's a goal this weekend! How many people sell on e-bay?

I've sold on eBay before, but at the time I was buying from wholesalers and doing it as a business. I stopped that years ago, but I have a huge pile of hardly worn clothes that I need to get out of my house and I've recently been thinking about putting them up for sale. Even if I only got a couple dollars for each piece it would add up to quite a bit of money.

I did it for a while but I didn't make a lot of money at it. I just had some things around the house that I sold. We also had an auction next door that we bought some things at and sold. But I didn't price things high enough to make enough to continue. I just quit although I have thought about going back to it.

I do sell some things through sites like Amazon, but Ebay just has too many fees and you have to pay money even if your product doesn't end up selling during the auction period. Plus there is the added pressure to sell your items for well below value, just to help insure that it will sell.

I used to sell regularly on eBay but as HRDude mentioned, their fees are now prohibited. They have turned their backs on the very people who made them successful in the first place. They are in co-hoots with their PayPal subsidiary to just feed their own pockets. I don't go near eBay much anymore.

My plan was a bust anyway, so far this weekend. We lost power here shortly after I said my goal! So I got nothing done for the most part of yesterday. Today I need to finish cleaning and then try to list a few things.

I know that you can list up to 5 different things with no fees however, I believe there are certain restrictions. You also have to pay a percentage of your selling price if it sells so I am not sure if this will help or not.

Honestly there are plenty of other auction/sales sites out there now which are way more reasonable, that you really don't have to use Ebay anymore. Of course some of these sites may get less traffic than Ebay, but some are still quite nice.

We have a pile of stuff here too but we are donating it all to the local Goodwill. It should have went out this past weekend but due to a random winter storm that hit so many states including ours, the road trip has been delayed for the coming up weekend. I am sure I have enough for an entire truckload too.
