Default Spending less or making more?

In this depressing situation, it seems that many people (including me) get hard times making enough money to live on. How to cope with it? Is it easier to spend less or make more money to make ends meet?

Well in these trying times it will probably be easier to learn to get by on less than to try and make more. Not too many people hiring or handing out raises these days!

Well the best answer would be to do both. It's hard to make more though, so the answer would be to spend less. You can control what you spend. You can cut out things that are not 100% necessary.

I have done well enough by spending less and am trying to earn more. That way I would have some savings for the future too.

We have cut back on everything you could call luxury like going out for a meal or buying magazines. We pretty much live on what we have coming in and if we scrimp a bit we can usually afford one cheapish holiday a year.

It would be awesome it you could do both. I think there are plenty of opportunities to earn more money in this economy and there are countless ways to save money at the same time.

We have been spending less at the grocery store. We look in the flyers for the best prices and buy the less expensive brands. We don`t eat out as much as we used too. I also try to use coupons. It`s sure tough but somehow we are making it work lol. Oh we also eat a lot of left overs.

I know we have cut back in our spending but I've also picked up a couple of part time jobs to try and help out a bit. Hopefully things will start turning around so things can get back to normal.

Pick up what overtime and extra work you can. Yard sales are another great money maker, as long as you do not price things too high. My friend just had one and tried selling baby clothes for $5 a pair. They did not make much money. But that is only a quick cash solution.

Stretching your money is always a good solution. Coupons, eating out less often, driving less are always good ideas. I've taken my bike to work which was about 7 miles away. Took me roughly 10 minutes longer then in vehicle due to traffic. Saved a lot on gas, and kept my vehicle from ware and tear.

Unless you have time to fit in another job, making more is tough. Spending less is the only sure fire solution. It's amazing how much we waste and don't think about it until times get tough and we have to cut back.
