Did anyone need to use the WalMart price guarantee this season yet? It sounded great but I did not need it. You could buy all your items at Wally World and then if you found them somewhere cheaper you just had to take the ad back to Wally. They would give you a gift card for the difference. I ended up buying items at other stores – I did not want the hassle of checking all the prices against WalMart.
I think that is what the catch is. Who has time to go through all the ads every week and have Walmart give you the difference. Sounds good on paper, but I doubt if many people use it.
My mom actually did it. Got around $8.50 back. She just happened to notice the ad in the Sunday paper, brought it in with the receipt and got the refund on a gc.
I shop at Asda here in the UK and as they are owned by Wal-Mart, they also give a price guarantee. I get money back every time I shop and save a huge amount on my weekly grocery shop. I think it's a great scheme!
I heard they were doing this but I haven't actually taken the time to check anything yet. I do have some bigger ticket items to pick up this weekend so will be checking some of the ads that are out to compare.
I've used it several times but not this Christmas season yet. It works well and all you have to do is to show the checkout person the competitor's ad and they will give it to you. Nice way to get a discount.
