Default Appliance rebates

This year there is a huge push throughout the country to get consumers to turn in energy hogs and replace them with more energy efficient units. California's program began in May but oddly, it fell flat. People aren't responding to it very much.

Are you aware of these rebates in your state and has anyone taken advantage?

Well, I am not part of the U.S. (although I have lived there for a bit). In my country, there are rebates for several products that is usually funded by either the shop or the manufacturer. I think this is a great incentive and thoughtful.

You'd think it would be, but for some reason, it's not working as much as they had hoped it would. Some think it's the models included; others say it's just not enough. I'm not sure what the problem is.

Some people just feel put out by the idea of going out of their way to help the environment. There may just not be enough money involved for them to bother.

Yes, I think that's a part of it because even some of the retailers have speculated that one of the reasons is that the rebates weren't large enough.
