I remember an episode in the TV show Dirty Jobs about bio-diesel. The price of the recycled cooking oil is about 55 cents per gallon if I'm not mistaken. I'm wondering why the government cannot do this when an ordinary person can do it.

Well as I understand it, the cars don't run entirely as fast as they would do on regular diesel, and there can be an odor associated with the running sometimes. Not to mention that the cars have to be modified and filling the car is different.

I think its a wonderful thing, but I can see it not working for everyone.
