Default Bugs & Going Green

Bugs; ants and fruit flies. I'm trying my best to go green with these new initiatives but I cannot figure out the best way to get rid of bugs without using some sort of chemicals. I am open to any and all ideas.

This is one area where I won't go green. The natural stuff is such a pain and it's easier to use the store bought stuff to kill off bugs.

Actually there are many options for getting rid of those pests. You can even make your own organic pesticides using simple and easily available ingredients like tobbaco, garlics, alcohol, soap, or dead bugs.

I normally use products that are sold on the stores. It is easier to apply on the bugs and I think it won't hurt the environment if I use it once in a while only.

Sometimes it's hard to go green when you know something that is made from chemicals will do the job and do it really well. This is one area where I just go to the store and buy the spray. Going green with bugs is too much of a hassle.

The best pesticide I have ever made consisted of a little bit of dish detergent and some vegetable oil. This is especially great for small gardens and the dish detergent just washes off when you wash your produce.

Would something like that work for a small area like a kitchen porch? I ask as for some reason they felt the need to stick my large trash bin off my kitchen porch and sometimes little bugs like these creep around.
