Ok, I've never heard of the urine thing either so I have to ask - if it is the Nitrogen in the urine that is so good for the plants, why would you dilute it? Is it a too-much-of-a-good-thing situation?

It's because the ammonia in the urine would burn the plants if there is too much of it. I go to a local farmer and gather up some horse droppings. I put some of it into my compost and it really works well.

Coffee grinds contain an optimum ratio of carbon to nitrogen. If too much carbon you get bacteria. Nitrogen is a component of proteins. It also helps hold moisture.

Earth worms also love them. You add in eggshells for the earth worm's calcium and instant worm banquet.

Well, I was wondering how the composting is coming along Calliope? Has it started to break down and compost yet? It's about time to start working it into the soil now.

Can I just get some fertilizer that is high in nitrogen and add it to my compost. I have the same problem where no matter what I try my compost pile never seems to decay.

Now that I've gotten it started it is taking off very well. It seems to decompose much of it within 2 weeks time. One thing I have been doing though is to chop up most of the things I put in the pile and I turn it when I add things. It's really starting to look like a regular compost pile now.
