Default Composting Watermelon Rinds

I usually take all of my vegetable scraps out to the compost bin and let it make me some new compost. But what do I do with the watermelon rind? How do I cut it up before I take it to the bin? Will it rot quickly or do I need to break it down first?

I have a worm composter and just toss them in. They will eat it all but just a think paper-like layer of the outside.

I think I would roughly chop it up, but don't worry about mulching it up. That would be a waste of time and energy. It will rot down just like everything else, especially when you've turned it a few times.
