Default Did you know- Juice Pouches

Did you know that your school can get money for these? TerraCycle is a company that has come up with making all kinds of things with juice pouches and offer 2¢ per pouch to the school of your choice. I joined up! What a great way to recylce/reuse right?

I live in Australia and here the government will give you 10 cents a can/bottle if you recycle them. The other day I had quite a few so I cashed them in and got $13. A lot of homeless people do it for money and even ordinary people like me do for a bit of extra money. The only thing is the scheme is only in a few states around Australia and it could be practiced in every state to help the environment.

I did not know about this company. Do you have a web address for them? I am wondering if my local schools are signed up for this program.

That's a good idea, and I will tell my kids school about it. I always wondered why they couldn't be recycled because they seem to have a lot of metal in them. I wonder if this company makes those cute little purses.

I have friends who make all kinds of purses, pouches and wallets out of these. I save what my kids use and wash them for them. They give me some of the things they make and I would rather see them used than thrown away. I've even been to a bunch of craft shows with them to help them sell. They are beautiful!

Yes their website is www.terracycle.net and you would click on brigade to get the information you need. And they do make purses and all sorts of other neat stuff!

It is nice to see the various companies getting involved in fundraising programs for schools. The box tops program and Cambell soup and now this. It is great.

I have not heard of this either. I will pass it on to my daughter's school as they might be interested in it. Very neat. I think anything small we can do for the environment is better than nothing.
