Default Insulating With Foam

I know most insulation these days is the sheet foam. However, I would like to go with a greener option. Is there some other type of insulation that has been recycled from something? I have thought of using rags and found things but I don't know how much insulation they would provide. Anyone?

I have seen in a lot of the programs in green planet that they are advocating the insulation made out of jeans. They say it is the best material by far. The insulation looks like the normal one but it is made of recycled jeans.

I think there is an insulation that is made out of wool or something like that. Also another kind made out of some type of recycled volcanic rock. I will try to get some more info for you.
