Default The joy of Vinegar.

I use vinegar quite a bit in cleaning, it's especially great for cleaning glass. But there are also tons of other uses for vinegar from bug repellent, deodorizer, and removing tough stains in the laundry (and of course to make a fine salad dressing).

What ways do you use vinegar?

I use it on my hardwood floors. I mix about a cup in the bucket of hot water and then mop my floors. It works really well. It's great because it's usually does not streak and leaves everything nice and shiny!

it is also good as a kettle de-scaler. It keeps boiled eggs from cracking if you add some to the boiling water, and my mum says its great for soothing sunburn and for insect bites.

I use vinegar mostly in salads and for cooking purposes, LOL! I think it's better to buy a detergent for any of those purposes that you have mentioned.

you miss the point though brady.... not only is vinegar just as good... it is much cheaper, and also more eco friendly than harsh detergents...

Well I guess I've heard about that, but never really find the time to try it out. There are a lot of home remedies and tips that you don't know which one to believe in.

I also use it for the laundry and glass cleaning... I'm going to try it on my hardwood floors today actually since I saw it in one of the posts! I also use it when making chicken, a splash of that seems to make the flavors really go in deep!

Anything that cleans without scrubbing is completing a chemical reaction.

Vinegar is actually a more complex substance than chlorine. I haven't seen anything indicating whether or not is is as harsh as other detergents but if I need to know with certainty that I have killed bacteria, I opt for a chlorine solution.

I recently used it to clean some windows. I think my mother-in-law uses it in a solution to rinse and clean fruit as well.

I'm sure I've been in bars and restaurants where they've cleaned the tables and even woodwork with a solution of vinegar and water.

Vinegar and newspaper are best for cleaning windows and I use vinegar for a few other things too, but the smell is off putting.
