Default Is July 4th Bad for the Earth?

I am asking this question here because I would be afraid to get flamed for it anywhere else. I know you will give me an honest answer. Is July 4th bad for the environment? All the fireworks and smoke, does that harm the Earth in any way?

That's a good question that I haven't considered before. I think setting fireworks off on one day would have miniscule effect on the earth, if any. I wonder about disposing of the cases, though. How is that done?
