I have been using old bath towels for years, cut down to be dish towels. We also use old towels for dog beds and to cut down to make towels to dry the dogs on. The scraps cut around the holes in the towel make great cleaning towels. When the dish towels develop holes in them, we cut them down and my wife zig zags around them to keep them from unraveling and we use them as dish cloths or cleaning cloths depending upon the size. It really helps out with the budget and is a practical use of resources you already have.

We cut our towels into cleaning cloths. We do the same with t-shirts. It's a great way to recycle and saves money, too. I haven't had to buy cleaning cloths for years!

We do this too with our t-shirts and old towels. With two small children there is always a mess of some kind to be cleaned up and we just keep a bag of this stuff for that. Then you just toss them in the wash and start all over!

What a great idea! I don't usually toss old towels because you can always use them for something. I didn't think about cutting them up and using them as cleaning cloths and dish towels though!

We use socks to dust with. I remember growing up that was all we used to dust. I thought it was the coolest thing to put our hands in the sock and then wipe the dust off the furniture. I have never cut towels down and made dish cloths or kitchen towels, but that is a great idea.
