Default Organic veggies

How many of you purchase organic vegetables instead of the regular store bought ones with the pesticides and chemicals? I agree it's a little more expensive, but I think it's worth it. My entire diet isn't green, because I do love steak, ribs, and other not so healthy foods, but I figure as long as half of my diet is good, I should be fine.

We just can't afford the organic ones. I do try to get fruits and produce locally though. I just bought some pears that a farmer had picked from his tree and I know this guy doesn't use pesticides. You could tell it from the size and condition of the pears too.

I do not. They are just too expensive for my budget. I buy from local fruit and vegetable stands in my area, too. If I could afford it, then I would buy them, for the healthier benefits.

Once a while I buy organic vegetables. That is if it fits the budget. As much as I want to buy more often, I can't because of the price. Sometimes I go to the small local farmers' market near our place where I can get better produce.

My father in law grows fruits and vegetables of his own and they are all organic. So we eat healthy fresh food most of the time.

This is a personal dream of mine - to grow my own fruits and vegetables. But unfortunately I'm pretty far away from that dream right now.

If they are close to the price for regular fruit and vegetables, I buy the organic. In summer, I grow most of my own and it's totally organic. They do say that certain fruits and vegetables are worse than others.

I generally buy the organic versions, at least for the dirty dozen. For things with thick skins, like bananas and oranges, I buy the conventional variety.

I do not purchase organic fruits and vegetables unless they are on sale. We have started purchasing our meat through local farmers to eliminate the added hormones, etc. Surprisingly, even after butchering, it is far, far less per pound than buying meat at the grocery store.

I have to be frank and say that I don't trust the claims of the organic industry. They are like all big business and only out to make as much as they can from the consumer. I prefer to grow my own or buy from local farms where I know how the produce is grown.
