Lightbulb Recycling Plastic Bags

I read somewhere that plastic bags can be recycled and made into reusable shopping bags or other types of bags. It has to be ironed. Has anyone done this?

I would be interested in finding out about this. I keep forgetting to take my reusable bags to the store most of the time and I have a bunch of the plastic ones. I take some back to the store and use others to put lunches in but would like to know more ideas on how to recycle them.

I make the plastic bags into garbage bags. Instead of buying garbage bags, I will just use the plastic bags instead of throwing them away. I don't know if I'm helping reduce the pollution but I'm sure I'm reducing my expense in buying garbage bags.

I use them to dispose of used cat litter after I scoop every day. I also have instructions to cut them up and use them as yarn to crochet plastic rugs for my mud room. You don't have to worry about them getting dirty because you can just dispose of them. You can also make market totes with the "yarn" and they hold a lot. I, too, use them to line small waste baskets. There are dozens of ways you can recycle these bags.

Thanks for those suggestions Allie! Can you tell us how to make "crochet plastic rugs"?

I'm reusing the plastic bags I have by placing them into garbage bins. Sometimes I use them to store things that I'm not currently using.

THAT IS AN AWESOME IDEA! I love the thought of crocheting plastic rugs! Where can I find instructions on how to accomplish this?

I know the other things already. :/
