Default Throw Away Pallet Compost Bin

I just finished putting together my pallet compost bin! I'm so excited. The soil in the place we are is in horrible condition and doesn't want to grow anything except mushrooms. It has to be conditioned so I'm looking forward to using compost next year to condition everything. I put my first orange peels, coffee grounds, apple cores and potato peels in the bin today too. I can't wait! I'm so excited!

I need another compost bin and I'd like to do it on the cheap. Can you post a link or a picture to show my husband how to do it? I have a place nearby where I can get pallets so I'd really appreciate if you could show me how. Thanks Alfred-great idea by the way!

Ella, I found the plans on the Instructables.com website. Just search for compost bins and it should come up. If it doesn't, post again and I'll find the plans and post a link. My bin is coming along nicely. I've had quite a bit of raw veggies and fruits to put in it as well as potato peelings and such so I'm off to a good start.

Wow! That's great! I live in the country so it would be fantastic to have some homemade fertilize I can put on my plants. I love to garden and the place I live now is not very fertile. So if I start now, would I have some good compost by next year?
