Default Transforming Toilet

Is there some way to transform an existing toilet to conserve water? I don't want to buy a new one, but I suppose there are some replacement parts I could purchase cheaply to use less water with each flush.

A simple way to use less water is to put a brick in the cistern. We have some water companies in the UK who supply a hippo-shaped brick. All it does is take up room so that less water is needed to fill the tank.

You don't even have to use a brick you can use a 20 oz bottle filled with water and placed in the toilet tank. I imagine there are some parts you can replace too but I am not that handy.

Now as cheap as the above mentioned tricks, but they do sell conversion kits. I have not tried any, but here is a link to one.

Right now we need to do something similar with a half bath that is in our home, it seems the seal is leaking and its not something that we can really do on our own, esp. since we also want to make the bath larger which requires moving both the loo and the sink.
