Default bath flooring

Both of our baths are fairly small so the work would not be too much, we were quoted about two hundred dollars to redo the floors w/o the price of materials. I wonder if its worth doing ourselves though?

Depends on what type of flooring you want to put down and if you have experience doing it. If so, then I say go for it and save some money, but, if you have no idea what you are doing, then you could end up spending a lot more then you want to.

We re-tiled our bathroom floor once and it wasn't to hard. Don't know that we would do it again. I think it is just a matter of how much you want to do yourself and if you find someone who is reasonable that can take care of it for you.

Its not that large of a space to tile, which is kind of why we are kicking the idea around. Before we do it though someone will be coming in to fix the floor as its uneven in one spot (old house).

It's easy to do. Just make sure you rent the tile cutter for long enough. We always underestimate the time it takes to do stuff like this. We put tile in a bathroom once and continued it up the wall to make a shower stall. It really looked nice when we got done.

I wouldn't think that it would be that tough to do yourselves but $200 for labor really isn't that bad. I think the hardest part is getting the surface leveled.

I have heard that some tiles are easy to install. How is the sub flooring underneath? Are you sure that the room is level? If so it should be pretty simple.

I would think that doing flooring would be a pretty easy DIY. If it is ceramic tile I think the hardest part would be the cutting and measuring.

That really is not a bad price to have a professional come in and do it for you! If I were you I would take advantage of it and have the professional do it, unless you have experience putting down flooring.

I would try it. I don't think it would be that hard to do. The only thing you need to see, is if the floor is level and doesn't have soft spots. If you do, then you need a professional to repair and install.
