Default Bathroom tile

Both of my bathrooms have tile on the floor and the walls. How can I clean the tile on the walls and have it not look smudgy and greasy? I have used every product I can think of and they all leave it looking the same way!

Have you tried using vinegar and water? I learned about it on this forum and have been using it to clean everything! It's just great. I love it.

I haven't tried that yet but when I clean the bathrooms tomorrow I will give it a try. I guess you could just put it in a spray bottle and wipe it off?

I would say vinegar too (white vinegar and water mixed up). If that does not clean them enough- try bleach and water. I use bleach for everything! I know things are clean then!

I'd go with vinegar and water, too. People underestimate the power of vinegar as a cleaning solution. It's great for general use around the house and is non-toxic.

Vinegar is an acid so it dissolves the dirt in between the tiles. This is the reason why its good for cleaning.

What I don't know is the ratio of the vinegar and water solution. Can someone tell us the right ratio for cleaning?

I would say 3 to 1. 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar. That is what I use for bleach too. I love the smell of vinegar. I can't believe all the uses of vinegar. You can take old wallpaper off the walls by using hot water mixed with white vinegar.

I bought a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and it worked great on my tile so I bought the Mr. Clean mop refill, it is like a huge Magic Eraser and that is what I use on the tile inside our shower and on the walls.

If you do anymore you will smell it, or smell like it or both. We have done this in the past and it works great but when you get the ratio off you will know it for sure, it might even knock you down. I had a friend that did it backwards, very smelly.

So you mean the ratio is determined by the smell of the water-vinegar solution? Will there be any adverse effects on us when the vinegar concentration is greater than the water content?
