What is the best way to make a good seal between the door and the door sill? We have an old place and it has a huge crack between the door and the sill. I've tried caulk and the various rubber gaskets and foam seals and so far nothing is working. Should I just quit and get another door and frame?
Honestly it may just be less trouble to buy a new door at this junction. I've seen some awfully thick and wide foam sealant in the stores now. Just keep looking, I'm sure you will eventually find something you can use.
I don't think you could do a door change at this time of the year. I would wait until spring when it gets warmer because that's not something you can do in a few minutes. Just keep plugging the holes until spring.
