Default Cleaning ceiling vents/fans

I have a fan in the bathroom (ceiling) and its a mess. I don't know how to take it apart or if it can be taken apart to clean. It's pretty dusty! How can I get the dust out if I can't take it apart? Tips?

A chair or ladder might help. Most of the time you can just use your normal household spray cleaner. Just spray on the blades and wipe down. Just don't spray in the motor part. That should take take of it. They do have special long handled gadgets for cleaning/dusting ceiling fans.

Oh no - do you mean the kinds in the bathroom where it's almost impossible to get the dust out of the vent? I don't think you mean a ceiling fan right? I cleaned my vent with a toothbrush and then q-tips!

Qtips - now that sounds like a fun job. Yes that is exactly what I'm talking about though. I wish there was some kind of spray or some way to get the vent apart so I could bleach it.
