My living room is slowly becoming dirty, with the grimy hands of children and sometimes little accidents here and there, I won't be able to replace before the next 2 years or so, what can I do?

I never thought I would be saying this, but why not get slip covers? We had a living room couch that was like yours. The kids pretty much destroyed it with stains and I couldn't get them out. I finally just gave that couch away and the lady we gave it to bought a slip cover for it. I went to her house and commented on how comfortable her couch was and she started laughing....it was my old couch!
