Default Discount Paint

Did you know you can go by any paint department and they will usually have gallons and quarts of paint that didn't turn out to be the shade the person wanted. These cans of paint can be discounted up to 75%! I've been to Benjamin Moore, Lowe's and Wal-Mart and they will usually have something. It's just trying to catch a color that you like that's the hard part. If you're not to picky, you can get some nice deals.

I've found some really great buys that way. I found a rich, almost burgundy color once that looked great on the upper half of my kitchen walls. I have white beadboard up under that and an apple themed border on the top. It looks pretty good.

I had no idea places did that. That's great because I've been thinking of painting my bedroom and I wouldn't mind it if it was in four different colors--as long as they're not too 'out there'.

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to start checking it out when I go to these stores. We have a Benjamin Moore store in our town so I could get there very easily. I'm looking forward to getting some bargains.

They are good deals but make sure you can match the paint if and when needed. We ran into that once and ended up having to repaint an entire room since we ran short to start with!

The problem with that is that once you buy it, you're stuck with it. I've ended with some pretty strange looking bookcases for my kids because the paint I bought for the kitchen ended looking really bad in the light.

Good tips guys! I'm willing to bet on it, but I know if I buy something for some of my rooms, I have to have two gallons so they would have to be the same. Or you could take one gallon of the "oopsy" paint and mix it with a white gallon. It would make it lighter, but that may be a good thing.
